Parties at Step-Out
Woodland adventures for birthdays and celebrations
Celebrate your child’s birthday in the woods with a Step-Out party full of adventure, exploration and plenty of time to play.
Our parties take place in our woodland at Evegate, Ashford and are shaped around the age and interests of the children. We’ll help you choose a few activities as a starting point, while giving the children plenty of freedom to explore and enjoy the woods.
Standard Woodland Party
£195 for up to 12 children
2 hours
Your party includes your own area of the woodland, a Step-Out leader and a mixture of child-led woodland play and activities chosen to suit your group.
Every party also includes s’mores around the fire, with hot chocolate during the colder months or squash when it’s warmer. Hot water is available for grown-ups to make tea and coffee.
Larger parties
We can accommodate up to 18 children for an additional £80, which includes the additional staffing needed for the larger group.
Planning something bigger? We can accommodate groups of up to 24 children, with additional staffing arranged according to the size of your group. Get in touch and we’ll be happy to talk through the options and provide a price.
What could we do?
Every Step-Out party is a little different. We’ll plan activities around the age and interests of your group, while leaving plenty of time for children to play and explore.
Party activities might include:
- Fire & bushcraft – fire lighting, simple bushcraft and real tools
- Den building & survival – shelters, challenges and survival skills
- Woodland games & adventures – team games, camouflage and woodland challenges
- Natural art & making – clay, natural paints, hapa zome and seasonal crafts
- Mini-beasts & woodland discovery – explore habitats and discover who shares our woods
And sometimes the best activity is simply having the freedom to play in the woods. We’ll follow the interests and energy of the children on the day.
Add a Woodland Feast
£135 for up to 12 children
£8 per additional child
Adds 30 minutes to your party
Want us to take care of the food too? We’ll cook a woodland feast for the children on site, including:
- a locally sourced butcher’s beef burger and sausage for each child
- buns and cheese
- ketchup
- fresh fruit
You’re very welcome to bring your own birthday cake, and we’ll make time for cake as part of the additional 30 minutes.

A quick note before you come: Step-Out parties take place outdoors throughout the year, so sturdy shoes or wellies and clothes that can get muddy are recommended.
