About Us

We are a team of people that place a high value on our woodland environment.

We believe that our forests should be accessible to all people.

We believe that we need to take responsibility for our woodland environment by using it wisely and with integrity.

And we believe in low impact. So all of our staff uniform – t-shirts and fleeces – are sourced as locally as possible, supporting local traders.

Do you prefer to spend your money buying from a business that has society and the environment at its heart? We do. This is why Step-Out is a Community Interest Company (C.I.C).

A C.I.C is a business that trades to tackle social problems, improve communities, people’s life chances, or the environment – a way of doing business that puts people and the planet first.

C.I.C’s exist to make a difference to the communities where they work. They get their money through trade, just like a normal business, but the money they make is reinvested back into the communities where it is earned.

C.I.C’s can’t sell out to big business, so they can focus on making their communities better places to live and work. They often work alongside the community to design the services they provide, making sure that people’s needs are really met.

What a refreshing change!
